Panchang is the Vedic Hindu calendar that lists the five (pancha) limbs (anga) of each day: Tithi (lunar day), Vara (weekday), Nakshatra (lunar mansion), Yoga (sun and moon combination), and Karana (half of a tithi). Panchang is used to find auspicious timings (muhurta) for any activity.

Rahu Kaal is a roughly 90-minute window each day considered inauspicious for starting new activities such as travel, business deals, or important meetings. Its time changes daily based on sunrise and the day of the week. Routine activities and ongoing work are unaffected.
What is Tithi?

Tithi is the lunar day, the time it takes the Moon to gain 12 degrees on the Sun. There are 30 tithis in a lunar month (15 waxing, 15 waning), each carrying its own quality and recommended activities. Tithis like Purnima and Amavasya are especially significant for rituals.
What is the most auspicious time today?

Abhijit Muhurta is generally the most auspicious window of the day, lasting about 48 minutes around local noon. The Panchang also lists Brahma Muhurta (pre-dawn), Amrit Kaal, and Shubh Choghadiya windows, all considered favorable for starting important activities.
