Which ayanamsa do you use for sidereal calculations?+
All tools default to Lahiri (Chitrapaksha) ayanamsa, the official sidereal reference adopted by the Indian government and the most widely used standard in classical Vedic astrology. Lahiri is what most senior practitioners across India use, and it matches what Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra and the major classical commentaries describe.

How is the Lagna (Ascendant) calculated?+

We use the whole-sign house system. The Lagna sign becomes the 1st house, the next sign the 2nd, and so on counterclockwise. This matches every classical Vedic text and what your tool readings reference.
